Hi Jamie,
I’m catching up on posts I’ve missed. I’ve kept my favorites from way back , so I can go back and read them. My server can’t find most of the pages when I press the ‘like’ button, or perhaps they automatically disappear from the blogosphere after a certain amount time, so I was surprised to find this page, and with a place for comments, no less! I am spending a lovely hour with you and your poetry today, and it feels like a true holiday.

How delightful for you to do and say this, Naomi. Thank you. I take down poems after 5-10 days, usually 5. I leave up posts about other writers and poets or poetry news.
Having a few lovely days relaxing with family. Hope that your holiday weekend is full of fun and much-loved folks.

And I am visiting late and backwards– a true reflection of my life this time of year. I’ve been enjoying my morning-coffee read through your recent poems, reluctantly dragging myself back to the duties of the present. Well, perhaps one or two more…. (:

May 5 is also Tangu-no-Sekku or Boy’s Festival in Japan. My mother flew a fish kite outside our home with pride upon learning of this tradition. I was her fourth daughter, and my brother was born when I was 11 years old. A happy surprise and something she wanted to celebrate with the world!
