the fairy who lives in the moon

winter has stopped rattling the glass
and spring has arrived, tentative in an
uncertain green, touching down
and taking off again . . . peripatetic

night falls with a chill wind, hugs a tree
and the fairy who lives in the moon pens
ghost stories of Earth as she might be

Yes, this is about “Fickle Spring” but I think your title is better. The fairy in the moon who has so much power over the hearth, leaves me with a sense of hope. I didn’t remember this poem when I responded to you, probably because “fickle spring” has an irritating ring for me at this moment.
