“. . . owning a dog always ended with this sadness because dogs just don’t live as long as people do.”  John Grogan,  Marley and Me

I am sitting with Bax. His kidneys are failing. His time with us is about to end, so forgive me for the delays in posting. He needs my undivided attention and I need to say goodbye. I’ll be back soon with poetic responses to last week’s writing prompt and with this Wednesday’s Writing Prompt.

  1. I lost two dogs so far, one of which literally died in my arms. I have two other dogs that are old and approaching probably their ends, I know how hard it is to say goodbye :(. Hugs to you, Jamie – may the little one have a gentle passing! My thoughts are with you both!

  2. When you have a dog and he has given you his unconditional love and friendship, how can you ignore him in his time of need? Your heart will be better prepared to write poetic responses if you have given your time to say goodbye.
