it was the golden light

IMG_3096i awoke
it was the golden light
the moon camping out
casting my room
in the glow of its fire

i thought
for a moment
unsure of my place
forgetting
what city
what state
what day

seconds pass
soundless

slowly peeling away
the veil, the confusion
i melt into
the golden light
breathe myself
into sleep again
done

and done
as easily perhaps
as breathing into
eternal sleep
so frail and fragile
is this anchor
this silver thread
this castle of solitude
this just me
inside me
inside life

with heart to spare

with heart to spare,
still here, writing and reading ~
though time’s had its say,
graffiti etched round eyes and lips,
a hitch or two in the get-along

still here, still here
heart to spare,
time for writing and reading,
not much else required ~
still in love with life

wrapped in the midnight mist

last night, the stars compelled me to wrap myself in the midnight mist, to survive chill and gray and moon craters,to wait silently and with patience for the first sun

the wordless mystery

FullSizeRender-4abundance lifted on the arc of time
then the folding in ~
the circular successions of creation and negation
forever changing, dark and luminous
nature and destiny, coming and passing
ever active, whole, eternally nameless
the wild river, the still mountain
the wordless mystery
