my feasting heart . . .

1385915381i0p98like butterfies battling the wind, these
the quiet afternoons pulsing peace,
Bach on the radio, sustenance simmering
on the stove of my tranquility, the days
chasing night, the nights chasing day,
rhythms caressing my face, love-bites
armouring the leg of my being, heart
beating at one with the sighing Pacific
and only gratitude for the gift of life,
no more scandalized by the news of
death, baptism into heaven, whatever
that means
, but the reports center on
confusion, Kiev, Syria, Afghanistan

easy to foment flash-points for horror,
even easier to forget just how sweet it is
to breathe with the moon and sun and
to grow with trees bending in the storms,
obeisance to the seas and sky and
living on the edge of eternity, time to
give it up, to give-up strife for lent . . .
to never pick it up again, moved only
by the gentle breeze of butterfly wings,
color and transport for my feasting heart

through the ache of time

My poem today on The Bardo Group blog …

THE BeZINE

720px-52706main_hstorion_lg see it moving – Life!
moving through the ache of time
seeking that place
where identity isn’t worn on a sleeve,
where individuals challenge the tribe,
where beauty frees itself from convention,
where the chains of fear dissolve

The City of Ultimate Bliss

The City of Ultimate Bliss

My post for the event is: The City of Ultimate Bliss. Of the four short-story links I’ve attached to this blog  (scroll to “Short Stories” in the blog roll), I think that’s the one that most strongly exemplifies the use of the physical senses in story-telling.

Celebrating …

A lovely post by the gifted Bulgarian poet and writer, Blaga Todorova, in honor of my birthday. Thank you, Blaga! xo I have watched Blaga’s writing evolve and admired her hard work and perserverance for several years now and have no doubt that one day everyone will know her name.

Between the Shadows and the Soul

Purple beauty

The flower offered of itself
And eloquently spoke
Of Gods
In languages of rainbows
Perfumes
And secret silence…
~Phillip Pulfrey

May you always have the beauty of life and the wisdom of words on your side. Dear Jamie, wishing you a wonderful day!
