“But the beauty is in the walking — we are betrayed by destinations.” Gwyn Thomas (b. 1936), Welsh poet and former National Poet of Wales, educator

What a lovely variety of textures and colors! I can see why you like it. On beautiful blue sky days with the sun shining, I can’t imagine a nicer place to be! Are you allowed to feed the Koi fish? I adore the eastern feel to it. 🙂 Your pictures were a delight to see, Jamie.

It is just perfect. A little bit of heaven with heritage trees, the Japanese Tea Garden complete with a mock tea house that will one day be functional, and an arboritum and other garden things. They’re also planning a band shell and there is tennis, baseball and a pottery kiln for shared public use. I overlook the Tea Garden from my windows and before the trees were full again I could even see into the koi pond. We’re not allowed to feed the koi but we are allowed to watch the feeding every day at 11 a.m., if we like. Glad you enjoyed this little peak into my world, Corina. In the Silicon Valley – so cramped for housing – unless you live in an big and expensive house, you usually overlook a parking lot. I am so fortunate to have landed this. Thanks for you visit. Happy day …

What a wonderful return to a place that was once a part of my life. I don’t know if I told you but I had an apt in San Mateo on Hillsdale, just off of 92, when I was first “on my own.” :0) Thanks, Jamie.

LOL! Victoria, I lived there too, just below where you were. I was right near the mall. As with our lives in NY, our paths crossed but not at the same time. 🙂 We were destined to meet by Internet. 🙂

Yes! It’s not our NY Central Park, but it is a lovely walkable park and I love that quote from Thomas.
