…and then a new generation …
a boy, an old soul
but a merry new story
fresh at bone and marrow
adhering to Conrad’s dictum
with little shocks and surprises
in every sentence of his book
his life, his metaphor . . .
wearing Truth as his dermis
seeking tears, not blood
and he, like all good art
changed me for the better

Dear Jamie, I think you must have caught me at a tender moment, because this brought tears to my eyes. You know that T shirt that says, “Please God, let me be the person my dog thinks I am.” I try always to live up to the person my kids think I am, and I think that has made me a better person. Happy Mother’s Day!

Jamie, happy Mother’s Day. I’ve been reflecting on how all of life, all our beliefs have a metaphoric quality. I’m back in the blogging saddle!
