Our Lady of Kazan, Theotokos (Greek: Θεοτόκος Greek pronunciation: [θeoˈtokos) is a title of Mary, mother of Jesus, used especially in Eastern Christianity. The usual Latin translations, Dei Genetrix or Deipara (approximately “parent (fem.) of God”), are “Mother of God” or “God-bearer

“It is by no means an irrational fancy that, in a future existence, we shall look upon what we think our present existence, as a dream,” Edgar Allan Poe

At morn—at noon—at twilight dim—
Maria! thou hast heard my hymn!
In joy and wo—in good and ill—
Mother of God, be with me still!
When the Hours flew brightly by,
And not a cloud obscured the sky,
My soul, lest it should truant be,
Thy grace did guide to thine and thee;
Now, when storms of Fate o’ercast
Darkly my Present and my Past,
Let my Future radiant shine
With sweet hopes of thee and thine!

Edgar Allan Poe (1809 – 1849) was an American writer, editor, and literary critic, best known for his poetry and short stories, particularly his tales of mystery and the macabre. He is widely regarded as a central figure of Romanticism and was one of my country’s earliest practitioners of the short story.

Poe is considered the inventor of the detective fiction genre and is credited with contributing to the then emerging genre of science fiction. He was the first well-known American writer to earn a living through writing alone, resulting in a financial difficulties for himself and family.
