with heart to spare,
still here, writing and reading ~
though time’s had its say,
graffiti etched round eyes and lips,
a hitch or two in the get-along
still here, still here
heart to spare,
time for writing and reading,
not much else required ~
still in love with life

Beautiful poem. You are fortunate to have space amongst those old ones who love life still if for no other reason than embracing the gift as a gift.

Yes, I think so and you as well, eh? … thought not necessarily old. 🙂 xo

Indeed………age is not a requirement to live a life of gratitude.

Time has indeed altered physical and psychological priorities…but life’s mysteries remain challenging.

I really enjoyed and related to this. Yesterday my husband and I were talking about the wonders of retirement. I am slowly figuring out the meaning of my life as I grow older – but just about the time that I get a grasp on it, I realize that I’m a little older and need to revisit the subject. 🙂

It seems we are so busy with survival when we are young, that we don’t have the time to think everything through the way we should. I agree.
