SUNDAY ANNOUNCEMENTS: Calls for Submissions, Contests, and Other Information and News

“Imagination does not breed insanity. Exactly what does breed insanity is reason. Poets do not go mad; but chess-players do. Mathematicians go mad, and cashiers; but creative artists very seldom. I am not, as will be seen, in any sense attacking logic: I only say that this danger does lie in logic, not in imagination.” G.K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy

Often information is just thatinformation– and not necessarily recommendation. I haven’t worked with all the publications or other organizations featured in my regular Sunday Announcements or other announcements shared on this site. Awards and contests are often (generally) a means to generate income, publicity and marketing mailing lists for the host organizations, some of which are more reputable than others. I rarely attend events anymore. Caveat Emptor: Please be sure to verify information for yourself before submitting work, buying products, paying fees or attending events et al.

“The next 100 Thousand Poets for Change (100TPC) global initiative will take place on September 29. I believe we are at a crossroads and we must make ourselves heard together.  Please sign up* to show the world that we are here together again! . . . Peace, Justice and Sustainability. We will not be broken!” Poet, Publisher and Co-founder of 100,000 Poets for Change, Michael Rothenberg

Each year at The BeZine we participate in this global effort by hosting a virtual event. This makes it convenient for folks all over the world to take part even if there isn’t an event in their area or if for some reason they are homebound. More details will follow here and at The BeZine as we get closer to the date. Michael Dickel is – as has become a lovely tradition – our Master of Ceremonies.
