More years ago than I care to remember, I went to Haworth, slept out on the moor under the stars, walked up to Top Withens, then visited their home, quite modest, not like the modern Heritage Centre it has become. Atmospheric and awesome.
So, if you are coming from the USA, make sure you find time to visit.
In the early 70s, the BBC made a black and white series about the Brontes, beautifully paced and acted, more powerful because understated.
Maybe it is still available. Time to find out.
